Last night, while dancing jive at Hellzapoppin’ in London, I actually had a follow say to me “I think it needs a little work.” How condescending and rude! I don’t care if I’m 20 and she’s 35, and I don’t care if she’s been dancing jive for 10 years and I’ve danced jive twice in my life. I even told her beforehand that I’m a Lindy Hopper, and that I haven’t done much jive (not like I could learn it in the states anyhow). I didn’t rip off her arm, I didn’t drop her, and even if I wasn’t the best dance she had all night, I tried to be nice and friendly and have a good time. And then she went and insulted me!

Dancing jive with middle aged people just isn’t the same as doing Lindy with college kids. Some people take all the fun out of dancing. *grumbles*
