“It Is, In Fact, All About Sex” is the title of the short play I eventually wrote Friday night for the 24-hour show. Through the night, myself and a group of other writers managed to put together a sweet show.
My play deals with an important Carleton institution: Carleton Sex Caucus. Sex Caucus is an anonymous online forum for the discussion of sex. Since it’s truly anonymous, it can, um, get pretty interesting. Plenty of material for a good play on there.
Anyway, I’ll spare the details for now. This is a PG site, is it not? (although I’m proud to say that in keeping with 24 hour show tradition, others stooped even lower than I did). However, if you’re so inclined:
take a look at the script: [PDF, NSFW]
Many thanks to the actors and directors for putting on such a great show, and especially to Ben, Brandon, and Max for producing the whole thing. This is one tradition that I hope will continue long after I leave Carleton.
UPDATE: I should mention the origin of the title. Every year, Carleton puts on a performance of “It’s Not All About Sex,” a show they had commissioned that is supposed to show the types of situations that occur at college, how to handle them, etc. Plenty of good intentions there. Of course, we all know that it is, in fact, all about sex.
