Spring Swing 2006, April 29, Carleton College: Be there.

I would say “be there or be square.” However, being square is no barrier to attending this event. Nor is being square an excuse not to go. In fact, you’re reading my blog; you’re probably square anyway. Square is all the more reason to go.

Reasons to go to Spring Swing

• You like to swing dance.
• You like to pretend you know how to swing dance/
• You like to watch other people dance.
• You just like really good music.
• You have a pulse.

Reasons NOT to go to Spring Swing

• You have recently contracted bird flu
• Your grandmother just died (I could go either way on this one, though).

Back again this year are the same two bands that rocked out last year. Jerry O’Hagan and his Orchestra will be playing in one room, and (my local favorites) the Twin Cities Hot Club will be in another. The Hot Club will be bringing along guest vocalist Maud Hixson (who rocks). Jerry’s band will be bringing in vocalist Charmin Michelle (who also rocks).

So I reiterate. Spring Swing 2006, April 29, Carleton College: Be there.
