Music is pretty important to my life as a hobby, so it gets its own section.

Some good Music Links

• KRLX - Carleton’s only radio station. I DJ my show, the Winona Street Stomp, every Monday from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. KRLX’s site is now way cool, with podcasts, features, etc. If you’re lazy you can just click here to listen.
• I-Town Records - Ithaca’s own cooperative independent record label. Lots of great bands here. They make my hometown’s music scene interesting and fun.
• Grassroots - Awesome music festival. Trumansburg, NY, the third weekend in July. Too bad I won’t be around this sumer to go.
• Musefest - Labor Day weekend music festival near Ithaca, all local music. Such a great way to end the summer.

	Plastic Nebraska - Alt-country accordian rave music. Yes, really. And yes, it rocks. Yay for hometown music.
	Mason Jennings - One of the best folk singers around. Out of Minneapolis, and very popular at Carleton, Mason’s good anyday music.
	Wilco - Apparently liking Wilco is trendy. Well, it is. So what. I don’t think they’re demi-gods, and I don’t recount their history like Biblical lore, I just think they’re darn good.
	The Postal Service - Because everyone loves to drive to what amounts to video game music. Except better. And without the game part.
	The Old Crow Medicine Show - Think old-time music with severe ADHD. Also, I knew (of) them way back when. Before they got a big record deal. That’s gotta be worth something.
	10 ft. Ganja Plant - Reggae so old school, you’ll swear it was vinyl. This is actually a side project of John Brown’s Body (see below).
	The Sim Redmond Band - World music meets reggae meets jam band. Except really good at all three.
	Jim’s Big Ego - “Unpop for the unpopulous.” Great catchy sound and awesome lyrics. How can you not like a band with a song called “Math Prof Rock Star”!?!
	Manu Chao - One of the most interesting artists to come out in a long time. Music of a world traveler for world travelers.
	The Sons of Pitches - A cappella friends from home. Incredible blend and an awesome live show. Check these guys out for sure.
	John Brown’s Body - Reputedly the best reggae band in America. I wouldn’t know what I’m talking about there, but they certainly put on a sweet live show. Definitely worth checking out.
